After your long, long flight to Australia…somewhere between 10 and 26 hours….yes, we are on the other side of the world…we’ll be waiting for you at the Sydney airport. You don’t have to worry about anything except for meeting the Bloke or Sheila (that’s guy or girl in Aussie speak) with the WTC sign and a smiling face, who’ll drive you to your hostel. It is appropriate that we say “no worries” a lot in OZ, especially if you’re a WTC member. |

When you’re travelling, have you secretly envied people who can spend hours in the business class lounge, sitting on comfy sofas, surfing the net, reading the paper, all for free while you’re trying to get comfortable in one of those hard chairs at the airport...you know, the ones with the arm rests that prevent you from laying down across a couple of seats.
Well, WTC has a beautiful 450 sq m lounge just waiting for you. It is yours to use 6 days a week throughout your stay in Australia. You can meet fellow travellers, surf the net, pick up your mail, get a job, catch a ride with a mate who is driving up the coast, sign up for a pub crawl, or just hang ‘round. The WTC Centre is your private travellers’ lounge ..enjoy it!

Within a couple of days of arriving in Sydney (we let you sleep first) we’ll pick you up at your hostel and show you the way to the WTC Centre where you get to meet the team and see where your Australian home-base is. The orientation lasts a few hours and is chock-a-block full of helpful tips on everything from beach safety (we have a lot of dangerous creatures in our oceans), road safety (especially for those of you who drive on the “wrong” side of the road at home), the best places to visit and the best time of year to travel there, where to get good beer cheap…
And when you’re tired of listening, you get to do things…you get to smile for the camera for your WTC photo ID card, you get to check out the freebies you get in your welcome kit, you get to look at all the travel deals…and you get to go for lunch with us and all the other travellers who are just as jet lagged as you.
There’s also the serious stuff: we open you a bank account, file for your tax file number, explain your legal obligations as a worker and a tax payer, get you ready to work with a CV and interview skills, find out what kind of work skills you have, and then get you into a job… if you want.
